CFI Inspection

CFI now offers on-site inspections of in-service tanks and FRP equipment. We conduct the visual, thickness, and hardness testing following the procedures according to FTPI-2007-1. Barcol hardness testing is carried out according to ASTM D 2563.

We offer conditional assessment of FRP and Dual Laminate pipe and equipment using a spark testing method to test for leaks  in welds. CFI will soon be offering acoustic emission testing according to ASTM E1067-01 and ASME RTP-1.

Our inspectors are trained in confined space entry and fall protection and certified by the National Safety Council to provide our customers with the best in safety consciousness.

CFI uses special Ultrasonic Thickness gauges to accurately determine the current thickness of vessels. When having an inspection done, it is important to be informed that vessels are best inspected on the inside. Testing on the outside especially when the tank is in operation will provide less accurate readings and make it very difficult to determine with any certainty the useful life of the tank.

Everything on a vessel is visually inspected including flanges and internals. Design specifications of vessels are also needed to determine the remaining life of a vessel. Drawings of the vessel are preferred but not required.

Please give us a call today for your inspection needs. Spending a little money no to assess your equipment ultimately saves money and potential accidents in the long run.
